Strathearn is a fantastic place to take your gravel bike for a big explore. There are miles and miles of gravel tracks and estate roads which can take you right up into the hills, or down by some of our many quiet waterways.
Between 1-3 hours, gentle gradients, easy surfaces
A lovely flat cycle along quiet back roads and old railway line cycle path. You can start this route from Comrie Croft, although this involves a couple of miles of hillier and rougher terrain. Alternatively start in Comrie over the Ross bridge for the full family friendly experience.
Approximately 3 - 5 hours, with mixed surfaces, steeper gradients and higher altitude.
A pleasant and sometimes a bit hilly loop, taking in the village of Comrie and the beautiful Lady Mary's riverside route, leading to the Knock circular path with stunning views of the Strathearn Valley and Hills. Expect quiet back roads, some mixed surfaces and gravel tracks
Challenge yourself with one of these tougher routes.
A mix of quiet roads, gravel tracks and national cycle network paths. Passing through some stunning scenery, with a couple of testing climbs, particularly the return from Callander to Comrie. Allow 4-6 hours
We use the Ride with GPS app to detail local routes. This is an excellent app to utlilise if you wish get full details of the routes we are suggesting here. In order to get an offline map, you will need to sign up the paid version, you can do this from as little as £3 for a week. We are not on commission, its just a great way to get full ride maps and cues, much cheaper than buying a map to use for a week.
